Awe-inspiring Mosques

Awe-inspiring Mosques

As Muslims observe the Holy Month of Ramadan tomorrow the 10th of July, I can’t help but think of – well – the bloodshed in Syria, the ugliness of the brotherhood in Egypt that seem to give Islam a bad name, a continuously heart-breaking situation in Palestine, massacres and Burma, and the unsettled Iraq.

Yet deep inside, I remember that almost three years ago on August 8th 2010, I started this blog, and it was the first night of Ramadan, and I hate to see my thoughts tinted with such dark and twisted imagery of what our region has become. Instead, I wanted to explore the beauty of Ramadan, the mosques where millions of Muslims around the world will get together for worship, lending a hand to the less privileged and honoring this much awaiting Holy Month.

And so, the beauty comes in pictures… what I like to call the most awe-inspiring Mosque designs I’ve seen to date! Enjoy
