Kicking Off Project Jofeh
It all started last week when my friend Nadeen Rizik and I decided to dedicate our time to raising funds and materials for “Bait Saleem” in Jofeh! For those of you who don’t know what we’re up to, we are collecting funds for the Jofeh Community Rehabilitation Centre (JCRC), those funds can be clothes, toys, jackets, blankets or food (preferably rice, flour, canned food, lentil and any dry food you could think of!”
We we’re blessed to have three radio stations interested in supporting our cause and spreading awareness, this includes Play 99.6, Sunny and Play Jordan, and we’re still looking for more people to donate their time in creating a website, and/or spreading awareness among communities about our cause. Any donations can be dropped off at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Graduate Campus, on Zahran Street at the 6th circle!
Earlier this morning, I got an amazing phone call from Mrs. Iman from the Ahlyaah School for Girls, they have spread the word among their students and will be collecting 29 food packages, jackets and blankets for our cause on Monday and Tuesday of the coming week, and possibly joining us to a visit to Jofeh and distribute those funds.
I can finally see this project coming to light, and people out there are so generous and outstanding when it comes to giving back to the community, every person or entity we have contacted so far seems to have this strength to make it a better community for the mentally and physically disabled people in Bait Saleem’s center.
So if you are interested, don’t hesitate to e-mail Nadeen and I! You Can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or call NYIT University at 5537861 and ask for us, we want to hear your thoughts on this matter, and see how you can help us make this dream a reality.
That’s it for now, have a great weekend everyone, and remember, we can make a difference one person at a time!
