If you know me really well, you’d know I’m a movie junkie! I go to the movies once a week (on average after begging my husband to go lol) and well never have an issue doing reruns of my old time favorites. Nevertheless, 2012 wasn’t that great for me when it comes to the silver screen, yet 2013 seems to be packed of lots and lots that I’d like to watch.

Here’s a list:

Oz: The Great and Powerful (International Release March 8)

I’m not that big on cartoons or 3D Productions, but the title along gets me to grab my Oz to see what this is all about. Of course the film plot is very similar to that of Alice in Wonderland, promising a truly magical experience.

Still of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire in The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby (International Release May 10)

Although I vaguely recall the plot of the book which takes place in 1922, I look forward to refreshing my memory with the upcoming film. Personally speaking DiCaprio tops my list of favorite actors, and seems to have picked all the right parts throughout his career. This adaptation of the book will def be worthwhile.

Still from The Wolf of Wall Street (c) Just Jared

The Wolf of Wall Street (Release Date Unknown)

Another DiCaprio film I’m looking forward to this year is ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, about a New York stockbroker who refused to cooperate in a fraud case involving the corruption on Wall Street. The film’s release date has not been made public yet, but I’m keeping an eye on updates. Another fav actor of mine also starring in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film is Matthew McConaughey.

Still of Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster and Paul Walker in Fast Five

The Fast and the Furious 6 (Scheduled to be released 24 May)

Possibly called Fast Six as a sequel to the 2011 Fast Five, the movie is the sixth installment and sequel to the Fast and Furious Film Series. Personally I’ve grown to love all of them, Tokyo Drift not included, I thought it was the worst. The film is said to be moving from the underground street racing theme to a series of heist films with car chases in the vein of the Italian Job. The upcoming film includes locations such as the the canary islands, scotland, liverpool, england, and Los Angeles. It’ll be nice seeing what they’d do with all the money they stole from RIO where they clifhanger left off in Fast 5.

Last but not least,

Gravity (International Release date 18 October)

It wasn’t the plot that attracted me to put this on the list, it was the co-stars. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. The film is about astronauts that attempt to return to earth after debris crashes into their space shuttle, leaving them drifting alone in space. The film’s budget is estimated to be around $80,000,000, so lots of effects in this upcoming Sci-Fi. It was said that Angelina Jolie was originally cast but dropped out later. Robert Downey Jr. was also cast but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, probably because he was filming Iron Man 3.

and finally…

Still of Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 (Release date is said to be 2013 but it’s still being filmed )

Possibly because out of all The Avengers, fictional character Tony Stark is def a favorite, it’s always a good idea following up where this might end up. In Iron Man 3, Tony Stark uses his ingenuity to fight those who destroyed his private world and soon goes up against his most powerful enemy yet: the Mandarin.

That’s it for now, what are you looking forward to most in 2013? Leave a comment below :)
