While visiting the Rose City of Petra two weeks ago, I was told by multiple people that the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Amman had the best burgers the town has to offer, all I had to do is spare some time to check out the menu at V Lounge. Earlier this afternoon, I did, and I’ve been beating myself up for not doing it earlier, frankly, best burger in town was not an exaggeration.

The setting is your typical upscale yet friendly lounge, a great place for a business lunch or a bite with friends if you’re looking for a quiet afternoon. There is a stage area for live entertainment in the evenings,

Before, we indulged into the burgers, I wanted to stray away with an appetizer that most definitely does not typically go with your burger craze, but definitely a personal favorite, easy to make, and even easier to screw up, steamed Shrimp Siu Mai are a hit or miss in most restaurants. You either capture your dinner with flavor, or you just send them running for the hills. Trust me when I say, these pictures do them justice because the Shrimp Siu Mai served at V Lounge is an all-star recipe.

My husband Othman ordered the Mushroom Melt; prime black certified Angus beef topped with melted cheddar cheese and sautéed mushrooms. Two hours post lunch and my husband is still raving about his Mushroom Melt, granted if you typically go for a Mushroom Swiss, you will fall in love with this sensation, especially that the remarkable bun is stuffed with sliced mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.

I personally decided to have a little bit of everything, so I ordered the Gourmet Party Sliders which is comprised of 2 Italian Pizzas, 2 Mushroom Melt Sliders, and 2 Mexican Style Burgers.

The Italian Pizza is made of Prime black certified Angus beef served in a bun with pesto, mozzarella, tomato concasse, black olives, and rosemary olive oil. The Mushroom Melts are the miniature version of what Othman has ordered, only mine were served in mini buns and his in a bun baked with fresh mushrooms, and finally the Mexican which is made of prime black certified Angus beef, topped with spicy Mexican Salsa, sliced Jalapeño peppers, with homemade guacamole, and red cheddar cheese.

My favorite to were the Mushroom Melt and the Mexican – the Italian is just as delicious, but I know for a fact the next time around, I’m sharing Othman’ Mushroom Melt, and ordering a huge Mexican Burger all to myself.

All burgers are served with your choice of two sides, Baby Baked Potatoes, Wedges, or Fries, in addition to your choice of Smoked BBQ Sauce or Hot Cheddar Sauce. The French fries are delicious with just the right amount of spice and the same applied to the wedged, the baked potatoes were great as well, but sometimes you just need to stick to your basics and go for the fried goodness with your burger.

The burgers are well crafted, the portions are excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient, the level of service is superior, and the value for money is great bearing in mind all of the above in addition to the fact that you’re enjoying juicy tender flavors with every bite.
